The IBPS RRB 2026 recruitment now has 13,757 vacancies. IBPS updated the CRP-RRBs-XV vacancy list on 25 September 2026, and online registration closed two days later, on 27 September. If you have applied, the next step is preparing for the exam date that applies to your post.
This guide is for candidates who want the practical picture: what changed in the vacancy list, when each exam is, how Clerk, PO and Scale II/III candidates are selected, and how to use the weeks left before the prelims.
Only 12 posts were added, and all of them are Officer Scale II specialist roles. The total moved from 13,745 to 13,757.
Clerk, PO, General Banking Officer and Scale III numbers stayed the same. IBPS has not given a reason for the change.

For aspirants in the north, the annexure lists 85 Clerk and 75 PO posts in Punjab Gramin Bank, 211 and 94 in Haryana Gramin Bank, and 51 and 30 in Himachal Pradesh Gramin Bank. These numbers are indicative and may change before allotment.
You can no longer apply. Registration ran from 1 September and, after an extension from 21 September, closed on 27 September 2026. Registered candidates can print their application until 12 October 2026, as shown on the IBPS application portal.

There is no interview for the Clerk post.
Route 2: Officer Scale I (PO)
Route 3: Officer Scale II and III
In all online tests, one-fourth of a question’s marks is deducted for each wrong answer.
Age is calculated as on 1 September 2026, within the exact date-of-birth limits given in the notification.

SC/ST candidates get 5 years of age relaxation, OBC (non-creamy layer) 3 years and PwBD 10 years. Specialist rules differ for IT, CA, Law, Treasury, Marketing and Agriculture posts, so read the official notification for your exact post.
From the end of September, PO aspirants have about seven weeks to prelims and Clerk aspirants about ten. Here is one way to use that time.
PO and Scale II/III candidates should also start reading about rural banking and financial inclusion, as these topics often come up in interviews.
